It helped a lot that she was extremely attracted to him, possibly even in love with him from the very start. She admires the direction that Jerry wants to take and she wants to go right there with him.
This hilarious line is uttered by Dorothy's protective sister, Laurel. It is beautiful to witness the relationship between Laurel and Dorothy, considering all Laurel wants is for Dorothy to be happy. She is extremely protective of her sister and she doesn't want to see her get hurt. Now that's a good sister!
